Our team has more than thirty years of experience developing educational media for clients large and small--from universities launching online learning platforms and courses, to museums, non-profit organizations, and businesses creating stand-alone media experiences for integration into a larger educational concept or space.
Ilana is a learning designer, content strategist, writer and media producer with a passion for developing educational experiences at the intersection of digital and physical spaces. Her work at Hoot Owl Media is informed by twenty years of developing experiences focused on translating science to story and bringing abstract concepts to life. She has worked as an education researcher, museum exhibit developer, MOOC course developer, executive science editor, and educational media consultant. She holds a Master's in Environmental Science and Social Ecology from Yale University and a Bachelor's in History and French from Brandeis University. Ilana is fluent in Spanish and French.
Garrett Beazley brings his expertise in video production, podcasts, graphic design, animation and branding to Hoot Owl Media. He has worked at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology since 2013, creating video and graphic content for massive open online courses and other media projects. He has also participated in MIT research projects that involved developing filming practices, designing innovative video-based tools, and developing branding and graphics for educational games. He holds a Bachelor's in Fine Arts in Film & Video from the Massachusetts College of Art.
